Mukesh Ambani turns Writer

India’s top industrialist, the 53-year-old Mukesh Ambani plans to pen down his experience and business philosophy. Mukesh Ambani, a man of few words, will turn writer, to pour out the enthralling story of Reliance in a book that might hit the shelves by April 2011. This book by the man of achievements and honors will be published by global publishing major, Penguin.

Indian business magnate and CMD of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani’s book would dwell upon the growth chart of polyster-to-petrochemicals-retail major Reliance Group as also the business philosophy of the biggest corporate house of the country.

Given the books, stories or cases on the history and the success of Reliance has always sparked intense interest in the corporate circles and the management students. Even the movie ‘Guru,’ which is said to be inspired by Shri Dhirubhai Ambani’s life, was a tremendous hit.

Mukesh Ambani takes the chance to set the record straight, authoring the book about the journey of Reliance to become India’s largest private sector company. A chemical engineering from University of Mumbai and MBA from Stanford University, Mukesh Ambani joined Reliance in 1981. And since then he initiated Reliance's backward integration journey from textiles into polyester fibers and further into petrochemicals, petroleum refining and going up-stream into oil and gas exploration and production. Under Mukesh Ambani’s leadership, Reliance Industries has expanded into a massive global conglomerate offering everything from petrochemicals to fabrics. The company's growth has been awe-inspiring.

World's largest grassroots petroleum refinery at Jamnagar is the brainchild of Mukesh Ambani. This was followed by setting up of another 27 million tones refinery next to the existing one, thus transforming "Jamnagar" as the 'Refining Hub of the World'.

Mukesh Ambani has played various roles in his life. And the list is long, it doesn’t seem to end. Being a writer now gets added to this list. His book will surely inspire many and help them to build their own path to success.
